FDC offers an excellent training and exercise program that represents our staffs broad range of expertise and experience. We are fully compliant with Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) requirements, and many team members are HSEEP certified. HSEEP provides a set of guiding principles for exercise programs, as well as a common approach to exercise program management, design and development, conduct, evaluation, and improvement planning.
All Hazards Training
FDC offers training in all phases of disaster recovery management. Our training and exercises can be tailored specifically to our clients’ needs and can cover any issue associated with the FEMA Public Assistance program related to our services.
Continuity of Operations Training
Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP) and Continuity of Government (COG) require plans to ensure that government agencies are able to continue performance of essential functions under a broad range of circumstances, including natural and man-made disasters. FDC has extensive experience with state, local, and municipal governments in the creation of these plans, and offers the necessary training on how to develop and deploy such a plan.
Emergency Operations Center Training
FDC offers training to jurisdictions and organizations on how to properly assemble and run, or improve, an Emergency Operations Center in the event of an emergency or disaster.
Flood Mitigation Training
FDC's experts are available to train jurisdictions on all available flood mitigation activities and improvements. Our team provides disaster mitigation plans to curb the destruction of possible future flooding.
National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident Command System (ICS)
FDC provides NIMS/ICS training that includes informative directions to properly train all emergency personnel to function throughout the emergency management process.
Wind Mitigation Training
FDC trains jurisdictions on all available wind mitigation activities and improvements. Our team provides available disaster plans to curb the destruction of possible future weather events.
All Hazard Exercises
Hazard and risk assessment helps all levels of government, businesses, schools, nonprofit groups, and individuals within a community to understand the risks of a catastrophe. Additionally, this assessment provides an estimate of what assistance will likely be required in the face of a natural or manmade disaster. Once these risks are known, FDC offers exercises to practice in order to prepare for risks associated with different scenarios such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and fire.
FDC offers exercises and consulting for hazardous material response, including containment, confinement, decontamination, first responder, and incident command, with an emphasis on protecting people, property, and the environment.
Incident Command System (ICS)/Emergency Operation Center (EOC) Interface
Many jurisdictions have the ICS structure identified in their disaster management plans, but few have ever tested its ability to run alongside and work in conjunction with their EOC. FDC provides exercises to review these plans and illustrate what pieces work and what needs improvement.
Mass Casualty Incident Exercises
It’s commonplace during a catastrophe that emergency medical services are overwhelmed by the number and severity of mass casualties. FDC provides operational exercises for disaster response strategies unique to these types of situations.
Recovery Management Exercises
FDC provides jurisdictions and organizations with in-depth training resources on all aspects of the recovery process, including damage assessments, documentation, and project closeout.
School Safety/Security Exercises
It is a necessity that communities test their capabilities in responding to and managing a catastrophic school incident. FDC offers to work with various school administrations to provide exercises that maximize safety during and after an incident has occurred.
